Welcome to English 10, this is a full year course where students will develop an understanding of various genres of literature and the relevance certain pieces have in contemporary society. All students will research, analyze, collaborate, create papers and digital projects that represent their understanding of class topics.
English 10 builds on the foundation of English 9 by continuing to support the development of writing skills, reading comprehension, and critical thinking.
Independent Reading is an integral and ongoing activity throughout the year. Students are required to read 2 books of their choice, assignments and rubrics will be provided.
It would be very useful for the research project for each student to have a Gmail account so that I may be able to check on student progress and collaborate on the actual document. If parents would prefer their children not have an email; a suitable work-around is for the parent to create a Gmail account that the student can use only for the purposes of the research paper, but the account belongs to the parent.
